Flag Raisings – To celebrate the start of Pride Month Almaguin Pride is pleased to announce that a number of townships raised the Pride flag in June 2025. Sundridge, McMurrich Monteith, Perry, Magnetawan, the Village of Burks Falls and Armour all raised flags this June, and Powassan and Ryerson Township issued proclamations in support of Pride month.
A news release from The Almaguin Pride Network states that raising the pride flag is an important step in recognizing the human rights and dignities of members of the LGBTQ+ community in Almaguin. It signals municipal and institutional support and is an important step towards acceptance and tolerance.
Families, allies and community members are all invited to the 3rd Annual Almaguin Pride Party. Everyone is encouraged to support spaces that are inclusive of queer voices and embrace multi-faceted viewpoints and approaches.
