Sinkhole Causing Traffic Delays On The 400

The OPP is warning drivers of heavy traffic delays as crews work to repair a sinkhole on Highway 400 near Bradford West Gwillimbury. Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of OPP’s highway safety division said the sinkhole is on the left southbound lane of the highway, approaching 5th Line. Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation have blocked off the left portion of the highway between just north of 5th Line and Highway 88. In a video posted on X, Schmidt revealed a large hole in the pavement with drainpipes visible. He called the sinkhole a “massive cavity”. He adds that motorists should expect significant delays for a few days.
