Paranormal Investigators Visit The Commanda Museum

Writer: Sabina Hooper

The stories I tell on 705BLACKFLY.COM are always carefully crafted so that they are accurate, and fact based. However, here’s a story where I can’t definitively prove a single thing – and I had a great time doing it.

The Commanda General Store Museum was recently visited by the paranormal research group, “The Paranormal Seekers” from Oshawa. They specialize in historic locations and requested an investigation after hearing the tales of ghostly activity at the museum.

705BLACKFLY.COM was allowed to follow the team as they conducted their research. As a fan of a great ghost story, I had a blast. Several years ago, I produced and hosted the web series “Ghosts of Mississauga”, which explored the history of popular Mississauga landmarks through its ghost stories. It’s still on YouTube if you’d like it check it out. I think of myself as an openminded sceptic, and there were a few moments at the Commanda Museum that creeped me out!

During the investigation. The Paranormal Seekers did encounter what they believe to be spirit activity. In their final report they concluded that there are a few ghosts lingering on the premises. Among them is James Arthurs, who built the Commanda General Store in 1885.

As I mentioned, there were a few moments that spooked me because some messages coming from the beyond seemed to be directed at me. Turn out the lights and enjoy the video!
