Barrie Police – Suspicious Person Located Behind School

Last night, just before midnight, the Barrie Police Service received a call for a suspicious person that was seen near an elementary school located on Little Avenue.

The call came after a City of Barrie Transit driver observed a male dressed in black, wearing a mask and carrying a backpack who was seen going behind the school.

Police immediately responded and located a youth behind the school and quickly determined that he was in the process of making a YouTube video.

It was obvious that there was nothing criminal in nature taking place and after speaking to the involved youth, he quickly realized that the way he was dressed, and the time of the night, created a level of concern that prompted the police response.

Barrie Police wish to thank the attentive transit driver as their late-night observations and timely actions can serve as an example to others, especially during the overnight hours.
