Burk’s Falls Preparing For Family Day Weekend Winter Carnival

It’s been a long, snowy winter but Burk’s Falls is celebrating the season with their Winter Carnival.

“Isn’t it wonderful? The Winter Carnival in Burk’s Falls is going to be fantastic,” promises Burk’s Falls councillor Ashley Brandt.

The event is on February 16th, runs from 11AM to 3PM and will be located at The Armour, Ryerson and Burk’s Falls Memorial Arena at 20 Centre Street.

“It is the first winter carnival that Burk’s Falls is holding,” Ashley told 705BLACKFLY.COM. “Unfortunately, the Winterfest is no longer, so Burk’s Falls has taken this over, and there is going to be quite a bit going on.”

The day features both indoor and outdoor events including a vendors’ market, mini golf, a bean bag toss, public skating and a Yeti calling competition. (I have no idea if this is what a Yeti looks like but I’m going to go with it.)

The Burk’s Falls Fire Department will be on hand so that the kids can explore a fire truck, and they will be manning a fire pit so that you can warm your fingers and toes!

As always, we encourage you to get out there, have fun and support your community.

To get a complete rundown of all the events, listen to the audio file for our chat with Burk’s Falls Councillor Ashley Brandt.
