Man On Bail Now Charged In North Bay Stabbing

A man out on bail for several serious previous charges has been arrested by North Bay Police for a stabbing that left another man in hospital with serious injuries.

On Wednesday April 23rd, at around 12:40 am officers were dispatched to a disturbance on Gladstone Avenue, in North Bay. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. During the investigation, officers learned that the accused had attended a residence on Gladstone Avenue at around 11:20 pm the previous night and had caused some damage to a vehicle and assaulted a person in the driveway. The accused left the area, returning approximately 1.5 hours later, at which time he smashed a window and gained entry to the residence. Once inside, an altercation ensued, and the accused stabbed the victim with an edged weapon. The accused then stole the victim’s backpack and fled the area.

The accused was later located and arrested without incident. 27-year-old Patrick Daniel Morin is now charged with:

  • One count of Break, Enter and Commit Aggravated Assault
  • One count of Robbery
  • One count of Assault
  • Two counts of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • One count of Carry Concealed Weapon
  • One count of Mischief Under $5000
  • Six counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Two counts of Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

Morin remains in custody for a bail hearing.
