June is Bike Month and the Town of Huntsville has partnered with The SportLab and local organizations including Huntsville Mountain Bike Association, TriMuskoka, Kiwanis Club of Huntsville Muskoka, the O.P.P, the Muskoka Bicycle Pro Shop, Algonquin Outfitters and the Rotary Club of North Muskoka for a fun-filled, family-friendly day. The Mayor’s Bike Ride and Kids’ Bike Rodeo rides into town on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
For the first time, these two popular events will be held together on the same day, creating an unforgettable celebration of cycling, bike safety, and active living. As part of the Gear Up for Kids Program, this initiative promotes bike safety, active transportation, and physical activity while fostering a healthier, more connected community.
These events are designed to engage cyclists of all ages and skill levels. The Mayor’s Bike Ride and Kids’ Bike Rodeo celebrate the countless benefits of biking, from boosting your mental and physical health to helping reduce chronic health issues and promoting sustainable, eco-friendly transportation.
Mayor Nancy Alcock, who launched the Gear Up for Kids Program, is excited to bring the community together to support local youth through the gift of a bike.
“Biking is more than just a physical activity; it builds confidence, independence, and a sense of connection. By giving kids access to bikes, we’re investing in their future and the future of our community,” says Mayor Alcock.
The Kids’ Bike Rodeo is for young riders ages 4-9 and goes from 4:30 – 6:30 PM (last entry at 6:00 PM). Pick a timeslot and ride through a series of bike challenges testing your ability to brake, turn and maneuver safely on the road. A bike and helmet check are part of each ride. The fun happens at the Jack Bionda Arena Pad, Canada Summit Centre, 20 Park Drive. Please enter the building via the Front entrance of the Canada Summit Centre
The Kids’ Bike Rodeo is free of charge; however advanced registration is required at huntsville.ca.
