Two people are facing multiple drug charges after an investigation involving North Bay Police, RCMP, and OPP.
On March 7th, 2025, members of the North Bay Police Service Uniformed Patrol, Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team, assisted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response Team and the Ontario Provincial Police Clandestine Laboratory Investigative Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 700-block of Rose Avenue, North Bay, as part of a drug investigation. The North Bay Fire and Emergency Services assisted police in evacuating nearby residences to ensure public safety.
Two individuals were arrested and North Bay police seized over $8,000-worth of illegal drugs including:
- Approximately 4 grams of suspected cocaine
· Approximately 34 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
· Approximately 8 suspected Percocet pills
· Approximately 26 grams of suspected fentanyl
· A BB handgun
“As a result of this investigation, no drug lab was located in the residence,” says Scott McFarlane, Inspector of Criminal Investigations for the North Bay Police Service. “Based on initial information and because of concern about the presence of chemicals and other potentially dangerous substances, the resources of our partners were utilized including the OPP, RCMP and NBFES, to ensure public safety. The North Bay Police Service always has the safety of the public and our responding members as our top priority.”
44-year-old Blaine Chicquen-Sabourin is charged with:
o Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
o Two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order
A 50-year-old male from North Bay is charged with:
