Police Looking For Information On Unsolved Tay Township Murder

“What would you do if this happened to your child and no one came forward?” says Paulette Palmer with her eyes full of tears.

A heartbreaking question from the mother of Jonus Keegan Palmer who was shot and killed in Tay Township in 2024. His murder remains unsolved.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the fatal shooting.

Officers with the Southern Georgian Bay OPP ruled Palmer’s death a homicide after the 24-year-old was found with a fatal gunshot wound on July 5, 2021, outside a house where he was staying with friends on Old Fort Road in Tay Township.

Police say dozens of witnesses have been interviewed in the case but believe there are others out there with information who have yet to speak with the authorities. In a video produced by the OPP, Palmer’s family pleads for answers. You can watch the video below.
