Revitalization Of Burk’s Falls Ball Diamond Underway

After an extensive search for a contractor, work on the ball diamond in Knights Brothers Park in Burk’s Falls is finally underway. During the summer, 705BLACKFLY.COM told you about the village being awarded $50,000 by the Toronto Blue Jays’ Field of Dreams program. The grant is being used to upgrade aging fencing and bleachers – and levelling the infield and outfield to make them safer. The municipality is supplementing the investment through its reserve fund but that money will be replenished by advertising revenue. Arene’s Construction from Barrie has already begun the task of leveling the infield and the project is expected to be finished within weeks. We’ll show you the results upon completion. Burk’s Falls Councillor Ryan Baptiste has led the project and also coaches the Burk’s Falls Boltz. We had a chance to speak with him along with some of the kids who are looking forward to playing ball next summer. Check out our video!
