Rickward’s Polaris 11th Annual Vintage Snowmobile Show

Popular Vintage Snowmobile Show Returns To Kearney

Freezing temperatures couldn’t keep sled enthusiasts away from Rickward’s Polaris 11th Annual Vintage Snowmobile Show. After pausing the event for two seasons due to the pandemic, the event drew fans of all ages from across the province.

“People can come here and see the old sleds and the new sleds and take photos,” Mike Rickward told 705blackfly.com. “Just to see the smiles on everybody’s faces is incredible.”

Mike’s grandfather, Harvey Rickward, founded the company in 1966 and says the event is a walk down memory lane. “Those memories come back to us all the time and we like to show people what we started with.”

Parry Sound – Muskoka Member of Parliament Scott Aitchison was among the snowmobile fans in attendance. “You think about snowmobiling and what that has meant to our region in the last fifty years – it’s grown over the years and to see the equipment that used to be, it’s interesting and it’s part of our history here too.”

Rickward’s Polaris also teams with the Town of Kearney for the hugely popular Santa Claus Charity Water Ski Show. This year, the event will be on Saturday November 4th with the Canadian Water Ski Team making a return to the region.

“We’re going to have more skiers from Team Canada this year (and) some new acts,” says event organizer Scott Waites. “The long-term vision is to make it a community festival with the jewel of it being the ski show.”
