Small Fries For Small Fries

The North Bay Police Service is partnering with local McDonald’s restaurants to encourage children to practice bicycle safety and make a positive impact on their community with the “Small Fries for Small Fries” initiative.

Thanks to local McDonald’s restaurants, members of the North Bay Police Service bicycle patrol will now carry coupons for free small fries, milkshakes, and ice cream cones with them on their daily patrols. The initiative, which was spearheaded by members of the North Bay Police Service’s bicycle patrol, will provide officers with coupons to give out to children who are practicing bicycle safety, such as wearing a helmet or walking their bike through a crosswalk, as well as kids who are seen making a positive impact on their community, such as picking up litter or helping others.

The coupons can be redeemed at any North Bay McDonald’s restaurant.

The North Bay Police Service would like to recognize Dan MacWhirter and his team at McDonald’s restaurants of North Bay for their partnership in this initiative.

“We’re happy to help our police force recognize and develop safe practices in our community,” said Dan MacWhirter of McDonald’s restaurants North Bay.

“It is always wonderful to see positive community initiatives like this take shape,” said Inspector Jeff Warner of the North Bay Police Service. “Thanks to the proactive work of our bicycle patrol officers, we have been able to bring McDonald’s and the North Bay Police Service together to improve bicycle safety among North Bay’s youngest residents and encourage them to be active members of their community.”
