That Don’t Dog Don’t Hunt

You’ll never meet a hunter without a tale to tell. That Dog Don’t Hunt: Tales from The Hunt Camp Porch by author Jim Newman recounts the memories of both his grandfather and hunters from across the country.

Jim, a resident of Sundridge, is a longtime hunter, conservationist and advocate for firearms and the hunting community. Prior to retirement, Jim was the CEO and registered federal lobbyist for the Canadian Firearms Institute, an advocacy and resource group for firearms owners.

Jim turned his love for hunting and firearms into a writing career. Before penning his book, he was a columnist for the Nipissing Reader. That Dog Don’t Hunt: Tales from The Hunt Camp Porch is the winner of the Outdoor Writers of Canada 2022 National Communications Book Award.
