It’s one of the jewels of the Almaguin Highlands. Lake Cecebe is part of the Magnetawan River waterway and has over 20 miles of shoreline. The village of Burk’s Falls is located upstream of Lake Cecebe on the Magnetawan River. The historic village of Magnetawan is located where the river exits Lake Cecebe and flows into Ahmic Lake. The communities of Midlothian, Cecebe, Rockwynn, Port Carmen, and Magnetawan can all be found on the lake. At the outflow of Lake Cecebe is a hand-operated lock and dam system between Lake Cecebe and Ahmic Lake that was built in 1886.
The lake is part of a chain of three lakes, which also includes Ahmic Lake and Crawford Lake. Cecebe is a popular tourist destination for recreational activities such as swimming, boating, and fishing. The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including lake trout, smallmouth bass, and walleye. As residents of Magnetawan, we’ve spent a lot of time on Cecebe and can vouch for the amazing pike fishing!
