Plants Always Win, a gardening podcast co-hosted by Almaguin’s Sean Patchett and Parry Sound’s Erin Alladin and has received two 2026 GardenComm Silver Laurel Medals of Achievement in the categories of Best Podcast Episode and Best Podcast Series, presented by GardenComm: Garden Communicators International.
The international awards program recognizes individuals and companies that achieve the highest levels of talent and professionalism in garden communications. The 2026 competition drew 146 entries across 43 categories.
Established in 2024, Plants Always Win is a podcast that dives down plant-fact rabbit holes, answers audience questions, and interviews with intriguing guests. Sean is a horticulture technician and Erin is a garden communicator and author. The show delves into their love for ecologically sound gardening, strong human communities, and up-to-date science.

The pair’s Silver Laurel Medals acknowledge the accuracy, originality, creativity, and style of the podcast series as a whole and of the specific episode “Ep. 13 Beneficial Non-Natives? Borage vs. Cosmos”. All episodes can be heard at PlantsAlwaysWin.com or through any podcast app.
