North Bay Police has arrested three people following an intimate partner violence related home invasion in the First Avenue East area.
On May 10, 2026, at approximately 8:25 a.m., NBPS responded to a reported home invasion andgunshot in the First Avenue East area. The investigation revealed that three co-accused attended aresidence, where a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, a firearm was allegedlybrandished and discharged.
Through further investigation, all three accused were identified, arrested, and charged in connectionwith the incident. Execution of a search warrant resulted in the seizure of a weapon. The investigation remains ongoing.
26 charges have been laid on three co-accused in connection with this investigation:
Criminal Harassment
Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm – Spousal
Three Counts of Break, Enter Dwelling House – Commit Indictable Offence
Three Counts of Pointing a Firearm
Three Counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Three Counts of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Three Counts of Discharge Firearm with Intent
Three Counts of Use Firearm While Committing Offence
Two Counts of Disguise with Intent
Assault – Spousal
Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
Two Counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
“This call for service required coordinated high-risk response, and our members acted quickly to bringall three individuals before the courts,” said Insp. Scott McFarlane. “We also recognize the seriousnature of this incident, including its connection to intimate partner violence, and our focus remains onsupporting the victims and those affected in preventing further harm.”
Three co-accused were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
All parties involved are known to each other. The names of the accused will not be released in order toprotect the identity of the victims. Given the nature of this occurrence and to ensure the integrity of thecourt process, there will be no further information released.
The investigation involved members of the NBPS Patrol Section, NBPS Emergency Response Team,NBPS Criminal Investigations Section, NBPS Street Crime Unit, NBPS Victim Services, and the OntarioProvincial Police Tactical Response Unit.
