Huntsville OPP are asking residents of Huntsville and Lake of Bays to be aware after a report of a metal object in a chocolate bar after trick or treating.
On November 1, 2026, Officers from the Huntsville OPP received a report of a small needle/pin located in a chocolate bar. Information provided to police was a child had opened a chocolate bar and when breaking it apart, a small pin was found inside. The child did not sustain any injuries.
Fortunately, no other situations like this were reported after Hallowe’en and it appears to be an isolated incident.
The OPP did not post any images of the item involved. Parents are always encouraged to look through the many items children collected during their Hallowe’en activities.
If any other similar issues arise in the coming days, please contact the Huntsville OPP detachment at 705-789-5551 or 1-888-310-1122.
