Members of the Barrie Police Service Human Trafficking Unit have laid charges against one man in connection with a human trafficking investigation.
In June, police received information that the Barrie man was recruiting females to provide sexual services for an escort service out of his residence. Police subsequently identified online advertisements for sexual services linked to the accused.
On August 12, officers executed a search warrant in relation to the case at an address in Springwater Township.
On Sun., August 30, 2026, Michael Brocklebank, 50, was arrested in Mississauga, ON, without incident.
As a result of the investigation, Brocklebank is facing the following criminal charges:
- Trafficking in persons
- Material benefit from trafficking in persons
- Material benefit from sexual services
- Procuring – exercise control, direction or influence
- Advertising sexual services
- Assault
- Fail to comply with probation order
Investigators are releasing the accused’s name and picture with the belief there may be more victims.
