OPP Asking For Public’s Assistance After Suspicious Incident Reported In Burk’s Falls

A Facebook post on Sunday, March 10th received a lot of concern and criticism. The post stated that a woman encountered a man on Midlothian Road in Burk’s Falls who appeared to be injured. When she stopped to offer help, she saw two other men approaching her vehicle from behind. Afraid, she slammed the vehicle’s door and left the scene. 705BLACKFLY.COM reached out to the people involved and spoke to Darcie Lacombe about what she says happened to her. We contacted the OPP to follow up on Darcie’s report and they issued this statement this afternoon: OPP REQUESTING THE PUBLICS ASSISTANCE The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has been notified of an incident that occurred on Midlothian Road in the Township of Ryerson. The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the OPP are currently investigating an incident that took place on March 10, 2024, at approximately 11:45 a.m., on Midlothian Road in the Township of Ryerson.  The caller reported they were driving and observed a person laying beside a bicycle on the roadway. The caller stopped and opened their door to ask if the person required help. At that time the caller observed two other persons running towards their vehicle. The caller closed their door and left immediately. Police are continuing to investigate and any person(s) with information regarding the incident should contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
